Patient Services Representative
Provides support with the daily activities of a medical office including filing, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, registration, and patient referrals. Excellent customer service and ability to work in a fast pace environment is a must. REQUIRED: High School diploma or GED, one year certificate from college or technical training program for medical office procedures preferred; or 3-6 months related medical experience; Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

 Practice Administrator
Coordinates services and supervises all aspects of operations (including patient care and customer service) for integrated care clinic(s). REQUIRED: Active RN in the State of TN, or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration; with 3+ years supervisory experience in an outpatient clinic preferred, home health experience, and or some medical case management experience.

Bilingual Access Coordinator
Assists in accessing care by using excellent customer service skills to evaluate patient healthcare needs and finding the closest location to that individual. Schedules patient appointments and provides reminders of first time appointments. Enters initial demographic, insurance information, and emergency contact information in the Electronic Medical Record system. REQUIRED: Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette; High School Diploma or equivalent required; Previous experience in medical preferred. Must be fluent in both Spanish and English languages.

Billing Specialist
Responsible for collecting, posting, and managing account payments. Responsible for submitting corrected claims and following up with insurance companies. REQUIRED: Certification as a coder preferred; Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures; Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment; Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system; Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner; Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public; Must be well organized and detail-oriented.

Worksite Wellness Coordinator
Manages all aspects of employee wellness program. Duties include developing innovative competitions and challenges, creating program proposals and reports, evaluating program outcomes, managing program budgets, and creating long and short term program goals. Responsible for managing wellness website, seeking wellness vendors, and making wellness presentations to large and small groups. This position will require some travel to Cherokee sites outside the Knoxville area and may require occasional night and weekend work. REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in health related field with project management experience or Bachelor's degree in communications field with experience in health education; Positive attitude; Ability to work independently; Passion for wellness and helping others; Ability to think creatively and problem solve; Good interpersonal skills.

Outreach Care Coordinator
Ensures the overall success of physician's treatment by collaboratively working with patients, physicians, and practice teams to provide the best care possible as described in the treatment plan. The majority of the job will consist of clinical data management using the computer, outreach to patients and healthcare facilities, and direct contact with patients. Reviews and assesses patient data, including outpatient treatments, inpatient treatments, emergency room visits, medications, medical benefits from Electronic Medical Records (EMR), chart reviews, or other information, to assist in the monitoring and facilitation of adherence to prescribed care plans. REQUIRED: LPN with minimum of three to five years practical experience, preferably in a primary care outpatient setting. Active LPN license with State of Tennessee License.

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician or Nurse Practitioner. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. REQUIRED: Medical Assistant Certification. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Cherokee Health Systems is currently seeking a dedicated and talented Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to join our team of dedicated professionals to provide complete psycho-pharmacotherapy tog clients daily in outpatient clinical settings. Competitive benefits, CME assistance, and holidays off! Masters Degree in Nursing with special emphasis on psychiatric nursing. Registered Nurse with minimum of two years psychiatric clinical experience in, in-patient or outpatient facility or Mental Health Center (preferred). Promotes health, recovery, and patient self-management by collaborating with Primary Care Physicians and Behavioral Health Consultants and an integrative clinical setting. Determines nature and extent of mental disorder, and formulates treatment program. REQUIRED: M.D. Degree and completion of psychiatric residency. Psychiatric Nurse
Provides patient education regarding diagnosis and prescribed medications under the supervision of a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner. Maintains clinical records, completes TPR, TPG, and CRG forms when necessary. REQUIRED: Diploma Nursing or greater degree; or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse; two years psychiatric experience desired.

Mobile Crisis Clinician
Conducts evaluations of patients for crisis and treatment. Patient evaluations occur in community settings (i.e., emergency rooms, jails, nursing homes, and/or other healthcare offices). Clinicians evaluate patients for the appropriate level of care, hospitalization or outpatient care. REQUIRED Master Degree in Psychology or Social Work. LPC, LMSW, or LMSW in the State of Tennessee.

Psych Tech
Provides Crisis Stabilization Unit residents with adequate support and supervision during their stay in the facility as well as specific day-to-day functions in the CSU under direct supervision of the Behavioral/Primary Care staff. Observes and documents patient behavior. REQUIRED High School diploma or GED is required, 2 years of experience in inpatient care preferred; CPR certification preferred but will train qualified applicants; Must maintain a valid driver's license.

Case Manager
Instructs individuals and families utilizing services at our Crisis Stabilization Unit about health education and disease prevention. Will include some evenings and weekend work. REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in psychology, social work, or related field; 1-2 years of previous experience in linking consumers with various community resources preferred.

Nurse Manager
Responsible for the clinical performance of Nursing personnel and coordination of quality of care/QI activities for our Crisis Stabilization Unit. REQUIRED: Nursing RN diploma or greater degree; Minimum of two years of experience in clinical management experience/Quality Improvement preferred. ER experience preferred, 3-5 years Inpatient experience preferred.

Clinical and Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship

Cherokee Health Systems invites interested and qualified applicants to apply for its APPIC-member Clinical and Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship training program. The Child and Adolescent Psychology track is a combined placement providing psychological services in an outpatient community health clinic and consulting with the child welfare system. Fellows conduct clinical case reviews, assessment, psychological testing, and care coordination with child welfare; provide education and consultation to trainees and other community providers; and evaluate mental and emotional disorders and administer programs of treatment in a traditional mental health care model. The Integrated Health Psychology track trains fellows within a primary care setting to address the behavioral and psychosocial aspects of health. Fellows serve as Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) on the primary care team, and as such, provide assessment, intervention, and consultation to the primary care patient panel. The Developmental Psychology track is focused on assessment, intervention, and parent/teacher training in autism and related disabilities. Fellows serve on the Autism Treatment Team, carry a case load of new referrals, conduct and interpret comprehensive evaluations, and schedule ongoing intervention sessions with children and families.


Completion of an APA accredited internship is required. For the Child and Adolescent and Integrated Health tracks, completion of an APA accredited PhD or PsyD Clinical/Counseling Psychology program is required; for the Developmental track, completion of an APA accredited PhD or PsyD in School or Development Psychology is required.
