Clinical and Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship

Cherokee Health Systems invites interested and qualified applicants to apply for its APPIC-member Clinical and Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship training program. The Child and Adolescent Psychology track is a combined placement providing psychological services in an outpatient community health clinic and consulting with the child welfare system. Fellows conduct clinical case reviews, assessment, psychological testing, and care coordination with child welfare; provide education and consultation to trainees and other community providers; and evaluate mental and emotional disorders and administer programs of treatment in a traditional mental health care model. The Integrated Health Psychology track trains fellows within a primary care setting to address the behavioral and psychosocial aspects of health. Fellows serve as Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) on the primary care team, and as such, provide assessment, intervention, and consultation to the primary care patient panel. The Developmental Psychology track is committed to high quality assessment, consultation, intervention and training for children, families, schools and community agencies working with children with developmental and learning disorders, including autism, specific genetic conditions, alcohol and drug related birth defects, attachment disorders, and learning disabilities, with the primary focus being autism spectrum. CHS has provided developmental psychology services for over 30 years and is recognized by the Tennessee Autism Summit as the premier autism treatment center in East Tennessee. The developmental psychology team has relationships with the University of Tennessee School Psychology Department, the University of Tennessee Speech and Language Department, the East Tennessee Children's Hospital, East Tennessee State University Pediatrics, Maryville College, and local educational agencies.

Completion of an APA accredited internship is required. For the Child and Adolescent and Integrated Health tracks, completion of an APA accredited PhD or PsyD Clinical/Counseling Psychology program is required; for the Developmental track, completion of an APA accredited PhD or PsyD program is required.
