Credentialing Clerk (Morristown)

Description

Summary: To assist in enforcing regulatory compliance and quality assurance as well as credentialing licensed providers with insurance plans in order to see a variety of patients.

Responsibilities Include the following:

  • Prepare reports to make certain staff and facilities meet federal and state guidelines. 
  • Contact insurance plans to initiate provider credentialing and follow up to check status until the credentialing process is complete. 
  • Maintain credentialing file for provider to include seminars/workshops attended as well as other documentation with regard to CEUs acquired to maintain valid license with the state.
  • Ensure files are current and available for review by auditors and licensing agency.
  • Preparing and maintaining reports of credentialing activities such as licensure and privileging. 
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Cherokee Health Systems’ policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Ability to be very detail oriented. A general computer skillset is required for this position, including knowledge of Word Processing Software. Experience with Excel is preferred.
