Family Nurse Practitioner  

Location: (McMinn Co./Englewood)

SUMMARY

Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in collaboration with physician by utilizing a team based model

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed protocol and standard of care.
  2. Treats chronic and acute health care problems within prescribed protocol and standards of care.
  3. Performs simple surgical procedures.
  4. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
  5. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition. 
  6. Consults with physician and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan considering standard of care
  7. Prescribes drugs other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  8.  Consults with physician and/or refers patients to specialized health resources for treatment according to protocol and standards of care.
  9. Participates in Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement Activities (CQI) as appropriate
  10. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Master’s degree in nursing. Licensed in the State of TN as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Certificate of Fitness to prescribe medications under the supervision of a licensed physician, serving as preceptor.

Communication Skills:

Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with clients, coworkers and members of management. Excellent professional customer service skills required.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Work Processing software, Electronic Medical Records software and Spreadsheet design software.
