IT Administrator


Performs analytical, technical, and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing Workstations, Wide Area Networks/Local Area Networks, Video Infrastructure, Telecommunications (Voip/SIP) or Servers; performs maintenance tasks; troubleshoots and resolves issues with computer systems, networks and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization; evaluates products for compatibility, expandability, and ease of use and support; recommends to management the support or nonsupport of evaluated product by utilizing a team based model.

Responsibilities: Include the following.

  • Provides status updates and completion information to manager(s), helpdesk request tracking system, and/or users, via voicemail, email, or in-person communication
  • Will research and recommend information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices
  • Instructs users in operation of equipment and software
  • Configures, installs, and maintains CHS’s LAN, WAN and Server infrastructure
  • Create, maintain, and deploy system images for use in laptops, desktops, thin clients, and servers
  • Maintain Active Directory Objects and Group Policies
  • Assist in deployment and day to day administration of the voice and video Infrastructure
  • Assist in maintaining the electronic faxing environment
  • Assist with deployment and maintaining application delivery and virtual infrastructure
  • Assist in maintaining the storage infrastructures (NAS and SAN)
  • Assist in maintaining the backup infrastructure
  • Assist in vulnerability and patch management
  • Maintain and administer the use of a hosted web conferencing solution
  • Participate heavily in all hardware/software deployments
  • Provides Level III support for inquiries from Level I and Level II support staff, including PC desktop OS and application issues, as well as printers, fax machines, scanners, voice and video software/hardware issues
  • May require off-site travel
  • Other duties as assigned


  • A.S Degree in a computer related field with 3 years of experience or B.S Degree in a computer related field and 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of various software program packages is essential in the performance of described responsibilities to include but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS
    • Microsoft Office
    • Active Directory and Group Policies
    • Electronic Medical Record and Patient Management software such as NextGen
    • Citrix: XenServers, XenApp, XenDesktop, and Netscaler
    • VMware: SRM, ESXi, and vCenter
  • Experience with enterprise hardware such as:
    • Cisco Unified Computing Systems
    • Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls
    • Cisco Voice Infrastructure: UCM, UCCX, and Unity
    • Polycom Video Infrastructure: Video Codecs, RPAD, RMX, and DMA
  • Understanding of basic and advanced networking concepts (IP Addressing, routing, switching, OSI, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Protocol Analysis, etc.)
  • Basic storage experience (SAN, NAS, backup and recovery, etc.)
  • Basic programming skills using  Power Shell, XML, HTML, SQL, and ASP a plus
  • Knowledge of VoIP and FoIP protocols and standards
  • Knowledge of Cat 5/5e/6 wiring and termination using T568B & T568A standards
  • Knowledge of analog voice wiring including termination of 66 and 110 punch down blocks
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual environment
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, and thoroughness a must
  • Ability to work during normal and after business hours which may include early mornings/evenings/weekends
  • Valid TN Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record

Communication Skills:

Be able to effectively communicate with staff verbally and in written format

Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday 8pm to 5pm
May be required to work irregular hours and on-call.
